What I love about photography is that you never stop learning and I am constantly working on developing my creativity in different ways.

Born in Germany, I had a nomadic childhood. I spent my early years in Germany and Holland as well as a short spell in Indonesia before my family moved to England when I was 10. By this stage, my art-loving parents had shown me around numerous art galleries and museums, introducing me to many art movements.

I spent my teenage years following another passion, that of horses, and I moved back to Germany in order to work towards fulfilling my dream of representing Britain as a dressage rider. An injury put paid to that and I returned to England and retrained as a journalist. During a decade of working for the publishing house IPC media, I found myself drawn to photography. “A picture is worth a thousand words” is a saying I found myself agreeing with. I then went freelance having had children and was encouraged by my Editor to take my camera with me to interviews. The upshot was that I illustrated all my articles and was commissioned to produce other editorial work. My passion for photography has since taken over and I set up my own photography business in 2012.

I qualified with the British Institute of Professional Photography in 2014 and went on to win the Best Licentiate Award later that year.
